Emma: Unexpected Challenge

Emma: Unexpected Challenge

Harvest almost always gives you an unexpected challenge. And this year was no exception – we got stuck and that’s hard to believe considering Oklahoma has been under severe drought conditions.

Last week an isolated thunderstorm came through Gotebo, Okla., and dumped about three inches of rain. The ground was so dry the rain couldn’t soak in and just sat on top of the ground.

When it was time to harvest it apparently had soaked in just enough for us to have some minor issues with mud. Here’s a little video to show you how my brother Dan got the combine unstuck.

If Dan wouldn’t have been successful we would have had to pull it out with the tractor and a tow strap.

Be safe and God bless!
