Jada: Hoffman Harvesting arrives in Kiowa

Hoffman Harvesting arrived in Kiowa three days ago after a stop in Oklahoma for the long weekend. We are unable to harvest but if the hot windy weather continues, we hope to be in the field by the weekend. Predictions of the harvest yield ranges from the teens to the 50’s.

In the meantime, we have been keeping busy doing maintence on our equipment. Our equipment is cleaned, trucks are being waxed and our wheels are currently being shined. We are parked alongside the railroad and our joke is that our tires are so shiny we might get in trouble from the railroad for the glare.

Kaidence and I have been running around with our “go-pher” duties. We ran Oak and Leon to Wichita, KS so they could rent a car to head to Kansas City to pick up another truck. We are currently in the process of upgrading our trucks. We still have Kenworth Autoshift Semis- they are just newer and a darker blue.

Today we had to take Johan to Alva to get drug tested. This is one of our mandated rules by the DOT. Everyone was able to have theirs done before they left, but him. Depite not being able to be in the field we are keeping busy- but that doesn’t mean we aren’t making time for some fun along the way. We have been grilling out, visiting with the Spicers, playing volleyball in the park and even got Kaidence’s pool out. Everyone was disappointed to see that the pool wasn’t filled here. They are doing some maintenance on it and will hopefully have it filled soon for the big kids.
