Jada: Harvesting begins in Kiowa, KS

Hoffman Harvesting got started cutting yesterday afternoon. The wheat is looking good and is yielding around 40 bushels/acres. However, the wheat is barely ready. We had to shut down around 7 p.m. due to running into to green wheat. Here are some photos of our first couple days in the field. They have been short days but as soon as the wheat ripens we’ll being putting in long days. The weather is forecasted to be hot and sunny- in the triple digits. Perfect for getting the wheat ripened.

What I am digging today…. or not!

When things go bump in the night it’s a lot easier to hear it in a camper. Two nights ago, I made Leon go check what was going on outside our camper at 1 a.m. Since it was so late, I missed out on what would have been the most hilarious camera op had I gone with. An actual bull was drinking out of Kaidence’s pool- I kid you not! Since I didn’t have proof, we have been trying to catch this nocturnal bull on camera. It wasn’t hard to do because he’s been visiting us nightly. I guess Kaidence’s pool has proved to be irresistible to this amazingly tame bull. Below is a picture of him visiting us at night again.
