Jada: Finishing a fast Kiowa harvest

Yesterday morning, two of our combines moved to Sawyer, Kan., to began harvest. The other two stayed in Kiowa to finish up…. they did last night just before the rain hit. The area received a lot of rain but missed Sawyer. This morning the rest of our equipment went but the campers are still here in Kiowa. Tomorrow we will move to Pratt to camp. Stop number 2 is done- it is both sad and amazing how fast the harvest season is going. More friends to say goodbye to but fortunately more to say hello too.  Here are some photos of our last couple days.

What I am digging today………….. F’real Milkshakes.

Coincidentally, Thurman Harvesting owns the gas station in the town we are cutting in. This machine, which was recommended by Alli, is really neat. You pick your flavor which is in a cup in a f’real freezer. Then you remove the foil lid, put it in a holster and push a button. Within minutes you can have a shake or smoothie. It’s pretty popular with the locals and a neat addition for a small town convenience store.. They are really good……  f’real! ; )
