Jada: Precipitation in Pratt

Hoffman Harvesting received a little break when precipitation hit Pratt. We received up to 3 inches of rain in the last 3 days. The first bought of rain brought hail with it but no damage was sustained to our farmer’s fields. Prior to the rain, fields were receiving yields ranging from 40  – 55 bu./ac. Test weights were in the 60’s with 11% moisture.

We have been enjoying a break from all the hustle and bustle. Some of our crew’s past-times have been swimming, playing rugby, servicing/ fixing equipment, stocking up with needed items at local shops, dining out and checking out the animals in our campground. Goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, wild turkeys, and donkeys roam in a gated community in our campground.

Servicing is a daily ritual that changes everyday depending on what needs to be done each day. Sometimes there are more items on the to do list than the normal routine. When we have time, we like to go through and check out our machines thoroughly to ensure we can jump in and go when things dry out more. Here are some photos of our tasks in the field today.
