Megan: Brandon’s Birthday

To many other crews, today is just another day of harvest. To Roland Harvesting, it’s a bit more special for us as we celebrate my “little” brother’s birthday. Brandon turned 20 today and I guarantee there is no place he’d rather be than on harvest. In fact, Brandon has been on harvest every year for his birthday since he was 10 years old. He recalls celebrating his birthday in many different places all over Texas and Oklahoma. One year, we even left home to start the harvest run on his birthday.

Brandon is currently studying Agriculture Communications at the University of Wyoming. After he finishes his degree his dream is to continue operating Roland Harvesting.

Flashback:
1999 – Growing up, Brandon used to dress up like Dad when he was gone on harvest. This was the last summer Brandon spent at home. The next year he joined Dad for the entire harvest run and has been going ever since.

Brandon's Birthday
Happy Birthday “little” brother! Brandon enjoys an ice cream sundae after his birthday lunch today. Usually his birthday is spent working in the field with milkshakes or cake to celebrate. However, the recent rain is hindering our cutting today. This afternoon Brandon will be loading up his combine to head over to Perryton, Texas while the rest of the crew finishes up near Helena, Oklahoma.

All Aboard Harvest is sponsored by High Plains Journal and Syngenta. Megan can be reached at megan@allaboardharvest.com.
