Half Speed

Garrison, North Dakota—We just can’t quite take off here in North Dakota. We’re only cutting partial days and are fighting wet wheat. The weather is lovely if you want to do recreational outdoorsy activities, but it hasn’t been much for helping dry down the wheat. Needless to say, it’s starting to get a little frustrating. Mark finally starting cutting in Montana on Friday, so that was a positive turn of events. They’ve been waiting it out there too. Some of the guys passed the time with a trip to Glacier National Park.

The wheat that wasn’t hailed has been in the fifty-plus-bushel-per-acre range in North Dakota. We are hauling to the bins so we don’t have additional statistics on the wheat to share. Tomorrow (Saturday) will start off with mechanical maintenance and hopefully the conditions will be right for harvesting in the afternoon.

Below is a video I took the evening of August 5. Perhaps some video action will make up for not having much harvest news to report?
