Jada: The bosses / foreman

The Hoffman crew

Leon, Jada, Candice, Malibu, and Perry.
My parents own Hoffman Harvesting and Leon plays a management role in the business as foreman. Malibu (Leon and my Chihuahua) serves as company mascot. ; )

Now that Leon and my mom are here we finally got our All Aboard Harvest magnets! Here we are earlier today taking time for a photo just before we headed out to the field to sample. The wheat is ready!  We are happy to be in the field.

Do you operate the combine all day and night? How often to you change drivers?
What time does your day start? How long does it take to fill the combine? What type
of breakfast do you start your crew with? Do you haul out snack or full meals? Just a few questions that have been on my mind since starting this journey with you guys. Enjoy everyday as we never know when anyone of us will take our last breath. My husband and I have been married 49 years and we treasure every moment together as we often say that we have less time together than what time we have been together. Be kind and love each other! Blessings, Grandma Kay

Jada: Enjoy your comments about the 2009 wheat harvest. Although not involved with wheat harvest any longer will always remember the excitement as harvest approached. Think two of my friends from harvests past are in the Kiowa, Kan. area. One is A. D. "Dale" Deaver; who turned 84 in April and is making another run this year. Think he would make an interesting interview. The other is Randy Blunck who has also made more than a few harvests.
