Jada: Hoffman Harvesting finishes up in Pratt

The wheat was really good in Pratt, Kan. Test weights averaged from 58 to 62 and yields ranged from 40 to 70 bushels per acre. Optimal harvesting weather enabled us to get the crop off quickly. Monday, we moved to Colby, Kan. and encountered green wheat. The wheat is still a day or two from being ready to harvest. Rain last night and the hot windy weather today will hopefully help ripen the crop. This post includes some photo taken in Iuka, Kan., while the sun was setting.

Trucks in sunlight

Since the ground was too soft for our trucks to get dumped on in the field without getting stuck as they got full, the trucks lined up on the road to make it easier for the graincart to dump.
