Jenna: Stop #3

Happy July!

Today we moved to our third stop for the summer (one we weren’t planning on). We’re working near Deerfield, Kan., which is about 15 miles west of Garden City. From Manter, it is only about 65 miles, so the trip was extremely quick. Dad and I made the first trip this morning, got back to Manter around noon, got everything else ready to go, and then left for good around 3 p.m.

When we got here, we set up the trailer house and then my parents went out to the farm to get the equipment ready to go and take a look at the fields. They’ll start cutting tomorrow.

It was super hot today, which makes moving days somewhat miserable. So that, along with the long hours we put in this past week, was my excuse for taking a nap this afternoon…it was awesome! I think I’m caught up on sleep now. :]

I already miss the Krumbachs though.

Trip totals: 65 miles x 3 = 195 miles; 1.5 hours x 3 = 4.5 hours on the road
Summer totals: 2595 miles; 49.5 hours
