Chasing dreams

Sage Sammons is the third correspondent for the All Aboard Harvest tour. The newest addition to the crew will be following his family on the harvest trail, and contribute to this blog, as well as the weekly print edition in High Plains Journal. Sage joins Jenna and Jada for the 2010 harvest.

Sammons Adventures was founded on a dream, hard work, and dedication to wheat harvest.

Raised on a Montana farm near Cut Bank, Sage learned early in life there was nothing quite like wheat harvest. From the time he sat on his grandfather’s lap to the time he drove his first piece of machinery, Sage has been addicted to the highs, and lows, of the harvest lifestyle.

Knowing how important dreams are, Sage’s father, Roger, allows Sage the liberty to pursue his own dreams. Sage also knows that no matter what happens there will always be a place for him in Cut Bank on the harvest crew.

This will be the fifth year Sage will join Sammons Adventures, which was started in 2004 after Roger decided to pursue his dream of heading south to follow the wheat harvest. The crew of 11 bleeds red, from the Case IH combines to grain carts, a red Peterbilt, and Kenworth trucks. Sage will introduce followers to each crew member and why they live the custom harvest lifestyle.

As they make their way along the harvest trail, the crew works hard – but plays hard too. Sage will take the opportunity to share stories not only about the daily routine of harvest, but the stops along the way. The crew takes advantage of their location and takes time out to see the wonders of the country, stopping at tourist points along the trail. Every day is an adventure with the Sammons crew.

Sage is currently studying communications at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he is the sports editor of The Rebel Yell and plans to attend graduate school.

Welcome Sage, to All Aboard Wheat Harvest – 2010.
