Jada: A fun day on the harvest trail

Last night we were greeted with a pretty good storm. The winds were strong and we received pea sized hail. In a house this doesn’t seem so bad but when you live in a camper, it feels like you are in a tin can. The storm got me out of having to haul supper to the field as it struck right around that time. Instead the boys headed into the camper to enjoy their meal.

This morning we took my vehicle to Steve’s Auto Repair to get fixed as the brakes needed to be tended to so Kaidence and I are without a vehicle. However, that didn’t stop us from enjoying the morning. We visited our neighbor Nala, went to the park with Kylee and Colston Debrock and had lunch with a friend- Jennifer Lane- at a wonderful restaurant in town named Gandy’s. Everything is homeade… including their onion rings!

Today, we are back in the field despite the weather we had last night. The rain affected some fields by making them too wet to cut but others are dry enough to cut. Rains are still in the forecast so it will be interesting to see what happens this evening. Here are some pictures of last night and our day.

What I am digging today….. Mike’s truck [pick-up if you are from the North :)]Mike's truck equipped with a Trip Hopper Feed Dispenser
Mike’s truck equipped with a T&S Trip Hopper Feed Dispenser.

Mike’s truck is equipped with a feed dispenser that he uses to feed his range cattle. It allows him to save money because he can feed in bulk. The truck model feeder is powered by a 12 volt motor that runs off the truck battery. He says he enjoys using it when he needs to move cattle because they hear him open the spout and come running. They know what his dispenser has in it and follow him where he wants them to go.
