Harvest in northern states continues to roll

Warmer temperatures and dry conditions are allowing harvest to move right along in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. Below are the crop reports for selected states according to the USDA.

Colorado: Winter wheat harvest was 99 percent complete at the end of the week. This is the same percentage as last week and barely behind last year’s rate of 100 percent.

Wyoming: Winter wheat harvest in Wyoming is now 99 percent complete, up from 93 percent last week. This is ahead of last year’s rate of 90 percent and the five-year average of 96 percent.

Montana: The hot, sunny weather has allowed producers to progress their Winter Wheat harvest. As of this week, 79 percent  of winter wheat is harvested, ahead of last year’s 62 percent harvested and slightly behind the five-year average of 82 percent.
