TexasWheat harvest was complete for the state. Preparations for fall seedings were underway as weather permitted.

Colorado– Last week, virtually all winter wheat reached maturity while producers continued harvest activities, ending the week at 75 percent complete. This is up from 44 percent harvested the previous week. Forty-three percent of the spring wheat crop was turning color, up from 22 percent the week prior. Thus far, two percent of the spring wheat crop has been harvested.

NebraskaWheat conditions rated 25 percent very poor, 25 poor, 33 fair, 16 good, and 1 excellent. Wheat ripe was 84 percent, behind 100 last year and 90 average. Fifty-two percent of the crop was harvested, well behind 99 last year and 68 average.

South DakotaWinter wheat turning color was 93 percent, behind 100 last year and 99 average. Ripe was 35 percent, well behind 100 last year and 67 average. Harvested were 3 percent, also well behind 96 last year and 36 average. Spring wheat turning color was 69 percent, behind 100 last year but ahead of 67 average. Ripe was 3 percent, well behind 91 last year and 27 average. Condition rated 6 percent very poor, 7 poor, 36 fair, 44 good, and 7 excellent.

North Dakota– Spring wheat jointed was at 95 percent, behind last year at 100 and 100 average. Headed was 82 percent, behind 100 last year and 88 average. Turning color was 11 percent, well behind last year at 75 and 27 average. Condition rated 1 percent very poor, 4 poor, 24 fair, 57 good, and 14 excellent. Durum wheat jointed was 95 percent, behind 100 last year but equal to 95 average. Headed was 77 percent, behind last year’s 99 but ahead of 73 average. Turning color was 4 percent, behind 46 last year and 15 average. Condition rated 0 percent very poor, 2 poor, 18 fair, 74 good, and 6 excellent.

Montana– Crop progress advanced during the week due to the continued heat. Crop conditions are better than a year ago. Winter wheat harvest is just beginning with 1 percent harvested compared with 10 percent last year and the 5 year average of 2 percent.
