14 Jun Emma: Meet Austin
There may not be much to harvest for Misener Family Harvesters, but we have work that needs to be done at home.
We have hired help for the past few years. This year we hired Austin. He was born and raised on his family’s dairy farm in Northwest Kansas, and he is the third member of his family to work for us. His older brother, Kevin, worked for us in 2004. Another brother, Marty, came to join us in 2008 and 2009. I guess you could say it’s a family tradition. They must have the fever!
Austin is fitting right in, and jumps in when he can and is always ready to help. He was recently assigned a job that was not expected to be extremely dirty. He proved that wrong. He had to change before lunch because he could not come inside to eat being that dirty!
That same day we made a service call to a farmer who had a combine break down. There were some tight and dirty spaces to get into. Austin, you’re up!
You might be able to tell that Austin considers getting dirty a badge of honor.
I guess you just have to get your hands dirty sometimes. And, Austin is all in!
Be safe and God bless!
