Hemingford, Nebraska—Ever wanted to take a ride in Purple with me? Well, here’s your chance! For your enjoyment I took a little video of the most interesting trail to a field that I have taken all summer. There’s some commentary and a solid soundtrack to go along with it, in case you needed more of an incentive to watch the video.
The wheat we are doing is irrigated and is doing around 70 bushels per acre, 59 pound test weights and around 11 for protein content.
Now, for the video!
All Aboard Wheat Harvest™ is sponsored by High Plains Journal and New Holland Agriculture. You can contact Steph at stephanie@allaboardharvest.com.

Posted at 19:10h, 27 JulyThanks for that little journey. Back in 1979 I was harvesting around Hemingford. Where was this field located? We worked all directions from town and this site reminds me of a place we were at southwest of town. thanks again purple-cam

Posted at 10:14h, 28 JulyWow, nice video. That was fun. Made me feel like I was there! It sure is different looking country than where I farm in West central Minnesota. I have a Kenworth that looks just like yours. Mine is navy blue, so even the color is close. The cracks in the steering wheel are even in the same places. I have to admit that your voice sounded very different from what I have been imagining it. I’ve enjoyed reading your blogs for 3 or 4 years now. Keep up the nice work!

Posted at 10:04h, 08 AugustThank you, Reg! It doesn’t completely encompass the bad quality of the road but it definitely got the point across! I bet our Kenworths would be friends since they are so close in color. Thanks again for your kind words and for following AAWH 🙂
