08 Aug Seriously the best dessert EVER!
I think I have shared this recipe every year since my first year at All Aboard Wheat Harvest! It is just so darn good, I HAVE TO SHARE IT! Sorry, I’m not yelling, just excited! I have no idea when this recipe came to be in the Misener family, but it has been around since all of my siblings and parents have been around. I remember my Grandma Alda making it for us kids when we were at her house, and Momma making it for a special treat. The most important thing about this recipe is that it is eaten hot! The hired men that have come to experience this Misener tradition think we are nuts when we want them to eat it hot. But as soon as they try it, they change their mind instantly!
Here it is: A Secret Misener Family Tradition
Chocolate Pudding
6 cups milk (the good stuff, not skim!)
6 Tablespoons cornstarch
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon butter
Stir sugar and cornstarch in pan, add eggs, then stir. Add all but vanilla and butter until smooth. Turn on heat, stir until boiling, then add butter and vanilla.
Serve hot!
Ice Cream
(for a 4 quart ice cream freezer)
6 eggs beaten
2 1/2 cups sugar, beat into eggs
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1 quart of half & half
1 pint whipping cream
pinch of salt
If needed, add enough milk to fill your ice cream freezer. Turn freezer on and enjoy!
These two amazing recipes will now be your most favorite dessert ever! The hot pudding with ice cold ice cream is to die for. 🙂 Please be responsible!
Be safe and God bless!
