Looking Sharp

Elk City, Ok — Pun intended! In the pictures below we are fixing the sickle and cleaning the heads. We have to make sure the guards, sections, rollers, bolts, and bearings are ready to go. We cannot afford breakdowns in the field. When wheat is ready to cut we have to get rollin’! My Dad always used to say, “We’re burnin’ daylight!”

Dan is cleaning out underneath where the whole sickle assembly goes, while the Crowley kids (Clara, Lauren, Martha, Evie, Abigail, and Anne) and the Zunk kids (Elizabeth and Leslie) all help out. They are all good help!

My sister Katie came out and helped too. Help is always welcome!
