A Great Visit

Elk City, Ok — A couple weeks ago, my one in a million boyfriend David came to see me! He got to stay five days with us and it was an awesome time. I mentioned in a previous post, that he works on a harvest crew as well. They finished up in Missouri and had a week before their next job was to be started. So David took this opportunity to come see me and hang out with the family. I am so glad he came. He also got his hands dirty helping out with what needs to be done around here. Too bad we weren’t cutting by then. I would have liked him to experience this side of the harvesting world. But all in all, whether you’re a wheat harvester or a silage harvester, we all have one thing in common: to feed the world.
Kent Braathen and Paul Steiner also popped in for supper one night. We even got to play a round of miniature golf. Elk City has a great local park complete with a carousel, miniature golf and a small train. We all had fun!

    Emma,
    You both found a KEEPER!
Still remember my mother belted onto the steel seat of the reaper, cutting and kicking out tied bundles for me to shock.
She wasn’t much on tea parties or shopping trips, but she was plumb perfect for her perfect man.
