Kimberly: 20 Years

Neumiller Harvesting has been in business for twenty years. A few of the farmers from our first few years are still allowing us to combing for them today.  Mychal and one of his cousins loaded up a combine and headed to Vernon Texas where they had no job and no employees. Mychal’s brothers were still in school so they didn’t head south until school was out for the year. Mychal and his cousin found, David Belew, who was looking for a harvester and we are still combing for him twenty years later.  Once they realized they had a job they needed an employee. They decided to ask some random person in Walmart if they were looking for a job and after a little conversation they had their first employee. That’s when Neumiller Harvesting began their custom harvesting adventure .

We they finished in Vernon they headed to Pratt Kansas to combine for Fred Nancy and Allen Kerr, who we still cut for today as well. A few years of going to Pratt we started cutting for David and Jesse Blasi. They may not have been on our list when we started but we have been cutting for them for nearly 15 years. In 2005 after we finished in Vernon we headed to the small town of Putnam, Oklahoma and started combining for Kevin Pisacka and have been going there ever since.

We may not cut for a lot of the same farmers as we did in the beginning, for certain reasons, but we have been able to keep coming back to some of the same ones since the beginning and we can not thank them enough for entrusting us with their crops each year.  You start to grow a relationship with them and their families, the campground owners, elevator managers, fuel station owners, and even the people who work at the local grocery stores. If you have to pass through their town because they are in a drought or a storm hit them, it’s very sad to us because we look forward to seeing them each year.
