Kimberly: The end for 2024

Thanksgiving has come and gone, Christmas is right around the corner and, roughly four months after that, we will be gearing up for another season.

Mychal, the kids and I spent our Thanksgiving break in Winnipeg, Canada, this year. We got to tour the Elmer’s Manufacturing factory and the Macdon factory, went to a Manitoba Moose hockey game, watched some figure skating and did an active escape room called Activate. Bentley enjoyed the Elmer’s tour as he likes to run the grain cart, so he was pretty intrigued with how it was built.

We got home and, two days later, we headed back to Canada. Mychal, Cole, Karlie and I headed to Saskatoon for the Association of Canadian Custom Harvesters convention. Mychal and I have attended this convention a few other times, so it is always nice to go up there to see some of the people we have met and only get to see at the convention as some do not come to the states to harvest. It’s always a good time, and they have always been very welcoming to us.

It’s hard to believe we have been done since October, but we always have things to do. We still have truckers out doing over-the-road trucking but will be shutting down to head home for the holidays and pick back up in January. We have made a few trips to Grand Island, Nebraska, to pick up the new combines and will have one more trip there to get our last combine and one trip to Pratt, Kansas, to get a tractor. There’s always maintenance to be done during the off season on the trucks, trailers and combines, and this year we are hoping to go through our crew trailers and update a few things.

Wrestling season is in full swing, so you will find me running kids to practice or in a gym on the weekends, cheering on my favorite wrestlers. Mychal still sits on the board for U.S. Custom Harvesters and will be traveling the next few months to promote the organization.

This is the end of my 2024 fall run, and it’s been a fun one. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday season, and we will see you all in 2025.
