28 Jul Z Crew: Another Week In Montana
Jordan, MT- It’s been pretty uneventful here with the Z Crew. Last week, we were able to pick up a few extra acres, but that’s about it. We hope to finish up here and move on to our final stop in the next week. Pretty crazy to think that summer wheat harvest is almost over. Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess!
We’ve been cutting winter wheat here. Its been yielding about 40 bushels per acre. The wheat ran a 50 to 58 percent test weight. The protein has also been 15 to 16 percent.
I wish we had more to write about, but that’s been our week. It’s been great to see some of our old friends that live in Jordan. Sometimes, going to the grocery store takes much longer than expected because you see an old friend that you have to stop and chat with. That’s just the joys of a little harvest town!
The Frank at a standstill.
Taylor showing us some wheat.
The Yellow Best in action!
Hmm.. can you guess why they call it, “Big Sky Country”?
We climbed a butte nearby and could see the town of Jordan!
We took a walk around a very old cemetery out on the prairie. It was very interesting to see the history of the people that have lived in Jordan.
